it’s just a shame it took so much sweat to get here.

After drawing this character yesterday (in the “Fantasy Escape” DED drawing), I thought I should draw him in a less frightened state. I’m slowly creating a world around this kid and some other characters. I have watched one episode of “Kaiba” (which inspired “Fantasy Escape”) and am happy that my ideas are going in a different direction from the ideas on that show. But I’ve been inspired nonetheless… great another good story idea… I really need to stop having these.
This is a character from my #Numerica project. I started drawing characters from this back on 6/18 but they’re only getting around to posting because I fell waaay behind. Anyway, stay tuned for more characters from (and an explanation of) this project posted in the mornings over the next several days.
After catching just a glimpse of the somewhat bizarre 2008 anime series “Kaiba” I was instantly inspired to go off in a weird direction. I’m not even sure what “Kaiba” is about, but the imagery of cute, child-like anime characters in twisted, life-threatening situations, resonated with me, so I drew “Fantasy Escape.” I’m not sure who this kid is or what he is escaping from but I do know he’s pretty damn scared of it. The main take away is the word “fantasy” in the title. Is the fantasy that he’s a fictional character? Or that he’ll escape?
Too many people would rather live on their knees than face death standing up. As if it’s even death we’re facing by not being afraid of terrorists. Statistically, you’re MUCH less likely to get killed by a terrorist than you are a car. And cars aren’t even Muslim!
Couldn’t think of anything really fun to draw today so I just went with anime-style practice. This is based loosely on a screencap from an anime I was watching. Can’t remember the title–it was “Ano Natsu” somethingsomething, I think.
