My favorite photo from @JapanSociety's "Concert for JAPAN" (final post of many!)
It's me with my first ever (and only) Japanese instructor, Akai Sensei! Seeing her again really brought back old times. I felt like it was March 2011 all over again! ;P Isn't Akai Sensei かわい? (Just agree--she totally is!) She also happens to be a wonderful teacher. She makes learning Japanese a lot of fun. I can't wait to take a class with her again!
On our travels we spotted this (Cole Porter's piano!)
Well, the plaque on it claimed it was Cole Portervs piano. :)
The Entertainment from the Night Before Last (#AnythingGoes)
This revival was so much fun! It was a throwback to the classic musical and quite a companion to what we saw last night--I wonder what Cole Porter would have thought of "Book of Mormon"? Anyway, Sutton Foster was BRILLIANT as a Reno so awesome that she made the lead characters' romance positively puzzling.
My only other gripe with this show is that I've heard the book (anything not sung) was updated/rewritten. I haaaaate when this happens. It's a form of lying about history. The show was written in 1934, let it reflect that time. So, one would have to read the original show to know if it was this much fun and if the writers in 1934 were talented enough to write something this timeless.

Tonight's entertainment. (I see famous people.)
No one in these pics, but I could drop names. Seriously. Drop. Names.

"Concert for JAPAN" @JapanSociety pics pt 1 of many!
This set includes Taikoza's taiko drums outside Japan Society before blowing us away later that night. Also: A quilt hanging in the J-Lounge covered in well-wishes for surivors of the disaster and a latticework covered in both paper lanterns and more well-wishes for survivors of the disaster.

Pics from Lincoln Center last night, including their new message-displaying steps.
We were there to see "Company" which I saw on one of the light-up steps...
Pics from the tweetup I went to the other night (or: Met a Few People, Didn't Take Their Picture)
This is where the tweetup was. Just documenting it, I guess...
