Stand Up to China: Protest the Beijing Olympics

I found this image on my travels across the wires recently and thought it was just about the best way possible to show people how supporting the Olympics in China was bad.

I don't think it's quite as powerful as the image PixelFish posted (check it out here: http://www.utterz.com/…Ng/utt.php ) but I think it's just as important a message since it points out that oppression is nothing new to this government.

I remember when Clinton first gave China "Most Favored Nation" trading status. It was then when I thought to myself that just maybe, Bill Clinton wasn't the nice guy he seemed like on TV. I mean, what about that thing where all those people were killed by the Chinese government in that square they've got over there?

Yep, Clinton was kind of a dick. But thanks to that dickishness, we got to keep getting super-cheap clothes, electronics and lead-paint-covered toys.

Later, when we had that spy plane that crashed in China, I remember thinking how funny it was that Bush got so excited with China. He was rattling his saber something fierce. But he couldn't do anything to China--they had "Most Favored Nation" status which meant there were billions of dollars tied up over there. This wasn't Coca-Cola having to spin off Fanta in Nazi Germany. This would be MUCH bigger than that.

And so here we are with the Olympics--basically the only way nations can really get along outside of the promise of massive money being made.

OH wait, the Olympics are that, too.

Damn all that merchandising!!

Here's the rather short blog chain it took to find that image:
