WE ALL KNOW KARL ROVE LEFT TO DODGE SUBPOENAS

Shock of shocks, Rove resigned. Any regular readers of mine might be wondering just what I think of this. Well, I have to say that I am thoroughly unsurprised. The only thing this means is that Rove still thinks the system works (at least, partially) because he's hoping to get out of the public spotlight so his roll in things can sneak by people and the press. Here's how this always works:

1) The heat is on a political figure.

2) Legal proceedings begin.

3) Political figure lays low to stay out of the way of the press--out of site is out of mind for those lazy idiots.

4) Continue your life as an unconvicted criminal.

Hey, it worked for Ashcroft and long before that, it worked for Nixon.

So, off Rove goes! Hoping his destination is the proverbial cornfield where no one will ever hear from him again (and vice versa).

Of course, it's up to the media and then the USG to ignore his escape attempt and keep him in the Prison of the Public Eye until justice is done and the truth is fully exposed and properly lit.

CBS BLOCKS NEWS WRITERS FROM PORN SITES AND THEN SOME

Here's another post from TheWayBack Files. Back in June of 2006, IMDB.com posted [http://imdb.com/news/sb/2006-06-20#tv3|this blurb] from NewsShare.com that reported on how CBS was stopping it's news writers from hitting certain sites with "sex" or other "offensive" words in their names. From the blurb:
Phil Oester, the data security chief at the company, is quoted as saying: "The challenge is to allow reporters to do their work, but you don't want people browsing to porn sites in the middle of the day."

Now, normally, I'd say you've got a pretty big problem if you think your reporters are goofing off at work by visiting porn sites. Sounds to me like you should get yourself some actual reporters. Then again, I'm not so surprised about this. After all, consider the quality of news reporting in today's world. I think maybe every news organization should adopt the "no porn site" policy.

Then again, what if you're covering a huge story that takes you to a domain name called something like:

EssexBrandCocklesAndVirginOliveOilProducedByAmateurCamGirls.com

I think it's a real dilemma! .

On the Way to Palm Desert (Palm Springs/Canyon)

Here we are outside the Palm Springs (we think) visitor's center. Very

beautiful area. Watch my Flickr for more pics of this area in the next

couple days.
