Hey, neat. Those guys in Iran who risked their lives protesting the election, six months ago, are being sentenced to both 15 year sentences and to death.
Yeah... 15 years for marching. Death if the Iranian government decides you were part of a terrorist or armed opposition group. I'm sure the process of determining what that even means is perfectly fair and accurate (...or not).
I think it's time for the Iranian people to do something about this kind of shit. I seriously doubt the US would be able to support a real revolution, but the people of Iran should do something to stop this kind of oppression. I don't know anything about Islam, but surely the right to march down the street, holding a sign, should be legal.
The math is totally in their favor--the country is largely made up of younger people and these are the kinds of folks being sent up the river. The youth is the majority in Iran. If the government can't control them, they have nothing.
On a side note, when the US presidency was stolen, we didn't do crap and there's no way any of us would have gone to jail let alone be sentenced to death. At least those Iranians can see clearly what they are fighting for. I just hope this inspires folks over there to keep fighting.
Oh and don't slam me for using AJE as a source when Google News still includes "Fox News" as a legit news source. :P
