If things seem too straight forward and understandable, there's always CNN to obfuscate the uncomplicated - Garr's posterous

Bad chart, bad content (even if I could see the variables in the small legend, is this kind of content worthy of a major *news* network?).

for the rest of the post: garr.posterous.com

Yeah, this is really effed up, man--CNN, a supposedly "respected news source," wastes air time on "Global Twitter Opinions"??? How about some *actual* reporting? Perhaps some actual digging and maybe some research?

See, because ANYONE can do a simple search on Twitter. ANYONE. And if you find typing into the search box on Twitter.com to be a challenge, there are MANY TOOLS to help you do it. Most of those tools are free.

The gist is that IF WE CARED, WE COULD LOOK IT UP OURSELVES.

In other words: CNN, TELL US SOMETHING IMPORTANT.

As much as I disagree with Jon Stewart's take on Twitter, this kind of coverage has no place in mainstream news. Active Twitter users are still a tiny group of people compared to the larger populace of the America--we're an even tinier fraction of the worldwide populace, yet, there on CNN, our opinions are apparently so important that they usurp actual coverage of actual news.

And Garr's right about the graph--what does it even mean?

Good job, CNN! You've just provided me with more reasons to blow off you morons in the MSM. You really have no clue what you're doing and you're losing viewers left and right. Rather than starting to providing real news coverage for mature adults, you think getting more broad and more gimmicky is the way to go. More proof you people are missing it.

Stick that in your hologram and project it...
