Yes! I love it when folks remember that Martin Luther King Jr was about more than just civil rights. See, the powers that be like to pigeon-hole MLKJr into being just a civil rights hero--he's less status-quo-threatening that way. In reality, Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero to all of humanity--not just non-whites. Not only did he speak out against civil injustice, but human injustice, in general. In the end, I think it was less his anti-racism position and more his anti-war position that made him dangerous to the status quo.
Sure, everyone knew that eventually we'd have a black president, but war? War can never go away--without war, there's a LOT of money that wouldn't get made, plus, there'd be no way to keep us living in fear, and therefore in line and our "leaders" in power (even Obama knows this part, why else does he think Al Qaeda is still a threat to us--didn't we just hear about a new "threat" today?).
Just my ¥2, as always.
My favorite part of this video, though, is the emphasis on love. Very cool.
