Seeds seem to do better in zero-gravity than they do in regular Earth gravity. What's THAT about??

Here is a link about SPACE SEED. Not floating ejaculate.

Interesting Facts:

1. Corn and Soybean roots grew in all directions b/c of MICROGRAVITY

2. They didn’t grow towards the light

3. Faster Germination

The question I have is this: Do these facts about zero-g growth represent a good thing or a bad?

While it's good that they grow faster (duh, there's no gravity), but isn't it a *good* thing when they grow toward the light since they need it for photosynthesis?

Still, it's interesting, nonetheless. Seems to me like we should do more tests. :)
