Dinner with Jordan at Gyu-Kaku in midtown: おいし DIY Japanese food grilled at your table...delicious!

So my buddy Jordan was out of town on my birthday so he took me out to dinner tonight to a Japanese place that has a couple locations here in NYC and a couple in LA. In fact, I've been to both of the LA locations with my old friend Jennifer. I was thinking of her (and missing her) quite a bit tonight.

Pic 1: Jordan-kun and I before the meal. Note the grill in the center of the table. That's where we'd soon be cooking our dinner.

Pic 2: here's a shot of us and our view. We read online that we should ask for a booth by the window overlooking 3rd ave. It was worth doing.

Pic 3: Jordan and, uh, his sausage.

Pic 4: here are my garlic shrimp grilling along with a piece of Jordan's bbq beef (can't remember for sure which one he got--the Harami, I think?)

Pic 5: here is my birthday "cake" which was a green tea crepes cake and was pretty delicious though I didn't think it was the best thing on the menu as our waiter said.

Over all it was a great time! The food was oishi and it brought back good memories. Thanks for taking me Jordan! We should go again with our better halves!
