IF TWO SUSPECTED TERRORISTS GET CAUGHT IN THE WOODS..

And no one in the American Mainstream Media covers it, did it happen? Considering that some MSM sources are still considered sources "of record" I'd say YES. Especially since a quick search of the New York Times website (NYTimes.Com) gave no results for a query in the last 7 days for the phrase "Goose Creek". Why is Goose Creek significant? Well, I'll let a cutting from an August 6, 2007 article (http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6831448,00.html) from AP.org fill you in:
Two Middle Eastern men arrested near a Navy base after police found a suspicious item in their car were charged Monday with possession of an incendiary device, authorities said.

A joint state-federal investigation was under way to see if there was any terrorism connection but no link had been found yet, said FBI spokeswoman Denise Taiste. The Navy base is the site of a brig where enemy combatants have been held.

Ahmed Abda Sherf Mohamed, 24, and Yousef Samir Megahed, 21, both students at the University of South Florida in Tampa, were being held Monday pending a bail hearing, Berkeley County Sheriff Wayne DeWitt said.

Mohamed is a native of Kuwait and Megahed is Egyptian, the sheriff said. Both are in the country legally, DeWitt said.

``They admitted to having what they said were fireworks. Based on the officer's judgment at hand, based on what he had seen, we judged it to be other than fireworks,'' DeWitt said.

...

The two men were stopped for speeding Saturday night near Goose Creek on U.S. Highway 176.

Goose Creek is the site of the Naval Weapons Station, which houses the U.S. Naval Consolidated Brig, a military prison where enemy combatants have been held. They were heading west, away from Goose Creek, when they were pulled over about seven miles from the sprawling Navy facility, police said.

So, there ya have it. It does seem like it's nothing. A couple guys driving around the south with an object which could be something as innocent as a home-made firework bomb (I made these in my youth) and since they were heading away from the Navy base, ods are they weren't going to actually use the thing for terror.

However, in today's fear-based climate I'm always surprised when a great opportunity to monger more fear is missed or even ignored. A coalition of doctors in the UK are accused of trying to kill people and it's all over the news. I mean, how absurd is that? Doctors who kill people? Makes no sense and logically goes against everything they've worked their lives for.

However, here comes two Middle Eastern guys who are caught with a bomb on American soil and the NYT doesn't even cover it.

It seems the press can't even monger fear right.
