MUST SEE: Cancer Global Killer chart via http://infographie.posterous.com (terrorists have NOTHING on cancer!)

These numbers confirm what I've been saying for years: that our leaders are dramatically misappropriating our money, our resources and the lives of our soldiers, by fighting this war on terror at the cost of approaching a trillion dollars.

The National Cancer Institute spends less than $300 million a year researching cancer. That's "million" with an "m". Now think about how the USG has spent almost a trillion fighting terror. You think terrorists have killed more than 7.4 million people as mentioned in the chart above? (They haven't.) Now consider that the USG spent over $500 billion to bail out the banks (this does not include the $630 billion the Fed doled out on its own).

Don't you think a disease that strikes one-in-three people in the developed world should have more than a few hundred million spent on it and at least as much as the fight against terror (especially considering that terrorists kill many times fewer than cancer)?

Sure, cancer's much less fun to fight than "evil," but do you want to die of cancer?

And hell if a disease that causes "a group of cells" to "display uncontrolled growth (division beyond the normal limits), invasion (intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues), and sometimes metastasis (spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood)" isn't evil, I don't know what is.

Please forward/reblog this chart to as many people as you can. It's important that we get the word out that cancer is a bigger danger than terrorists and that fighting cancer deserves a MUCH bigger chunk of our money than than the military.
