Pic #1: Here's my definition of "dressed up." What you can't see are the black jeans and red Chucks I'm wearing.
Pic #2: And here's me sitting in a "Barcelona Chair" in the lobby of the Four Seasons restaurant.
Pic #3: And here's my coat check (note my red Chucks visible in the background).
Pic #4: Here's me being served one of my favorite foods: smoked salmon!
It's kind of weird, a guy like me, eating in a crazy-expensive place like that. My dad still thinks conspicuous displays of wealth are cool (when really they never have been). I suppose I shouldn't indulge him since he's spending my inheritance and the money could be spent vastly more responsibly (we could have bought an iPad with the same amount of money my dad spent that night).
The food was good, but that salmon, for instance, wasn't that much tastier than the smoked salmon I can find at Trader Joe's for much much cheaper. The real irony was that the whole time TheDad was in town we never once went to any place I like to go--like the Hummus Place or Papaya Dog. He could have saved a LOT of money and had just as good a time. Ah well, maybe next year?
