Also on this past Saturday, we took a walk on the Highline--which is a mini-park/boardwalk built on an old elevated subway train track that ran north and south by 9th Ave and between about 12th and 26th street I think. If you look closely, you can see that there is a porceline dog in one of those windows that is places to make it look like it is looking out at folks on the Highline :)
The second pic shows an unfinished portion of the boardwalk. Those cones remind me of a scene from Katamari Damacy.
It was a beautiful day as you can see in the third pic. Yes, that is left over track that has been included as a sort of modern art piece. It's kind of cool in person, actually.
The Highline has these neat benches built into the boardwalk--the last two pics show them off.
