Think Twitter is just for learning when your friends poo? Now you can use it to find out when poo is flung. Seriously.

Follow Our Chimps' Tweets in a Groundbreaking Experiment!

Bruce - A Happy Twitter Chimp

This project builds on research carried out in the 1970s by Rumbaugh et al, in which Lana, a female chimpanzee, was trained to communicate by pushing buttons labelled with different geometric symbols.

We've updated the study for the digital age, by connecting a similar push-button interface directly to Twitter. Now three of Croydon Monkey World's smartest chimps can share basic emotions and behaviours with the world.

Chimps have been into space. Now meet them in cyberspace!

Yep, it's true--check out @bruce_monkey, @oskar_monkey or @joan_monkey for yourself :)

The funny thing is, I think I've seen user icons identical to @bruce_monkey's MANY times before... :D
