Got this from a space blog, but it's fascinating no matter what you're interested in--just look at how out of whack the priorities are between what we do spend money on and what we could so easily afford!

Feeding and educating every child for 5 years is a fraction of the cost of bailing out our economy. Maybe if we had been doing the former for the last 5 years one of those kids we fed and educated would have been the smart person who could have helped us avoid this crisis?

I guess it makes sense for a people as stupid as we Americans are these days to not put education higher on our priority list. Ah well.
