USMIL SECURITY SO TIGHT TEENS BREACH BASE BORDERS

Yeah, in this "Post-911" world of terror alerts and killer spinach, the US military has demonstrated how seriously it's taking threats facing America--by allowing teenagers in a stolen car to make it onto an insanely important air force base. Here's a clip from [http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/C/CENTCOM_SECURITY_BREACH|a September 21, 2006 article] at AP.org:
Security was tightened Thursday at MacDill Air Force Base, home of key command centers in the U.S. war on terrorism, after two teens in a stolen car drove through a security checkpoint and were later arrested. An investigation was under way into how the teens got past the checkpoint, which was manned Wednesday by armed guards with the authority to use deadly force, Air Force spokesman Lt. Larry van der Oord said. "They're military personnel, security forces airmen. They're trained, they carry weapons at the gate and they do have that authority (to shoot), but it's a judgment call and every situation is different," van der Oord said.
Yeah, sure--every situation is different. What if they actually had been terrorists? Of course, they weren't, but it's proof that if anyone really wants to hurt us--no matter how hard we try to secure ourselves against attacks--those "evil doers" will be able to do evil unto us. This is why I choose to just not worry about it. I put my faith in statistics that tell me I'm waaaay more likely to get killed on my way to work than in a terrorist explosion. So just relax and know that your military isn't prepared and neither should you be. :D
